Dairy in agroforestry system for self-sufficiency in protein-based feed | PATHWAYS Practice Hub
In this video, Florin Burzo, Executive Director of the Țibleș-Someș-Meleș Agricultural Cooperative, shares the inspiring journey of bringing together specialists, farmers, and processors to link forage diversity in semi-natural grasslands with milk quality. Located in a mountainous region of Romania, this Practice Hub has been looking at how traditional practices, natural grazing, and innovative approaches are enhancing milk quality and benefiting both the environment and local communities. The cooperative has over 150 small farmer members and collects 8,000-10,000 litres of high-quality milk daily.
PFLA research and results from SEEGSLIP project | PATHWAYS seminar
In this seminar, Nikki Yoxall, Research Manager and Regional Facilitator, presents the work of Pasture for Life, and Laurence Smith, co-coordinator for PATHWAYS, presents some results of the SEEGSLIP project, which sought to evidence the practices of Pasture for Life Association producers and farmer members using holistic, system-based approaches. Past impacts and current policies on livestock in Europe | PATHWAYS seminar
In this presentation, Elsa Régnier (IDDRI) and Dr Nina Röhrig (University of Reading) summarise findings of work package 2, discussing the impacts of past EU policies on different sustainability dimensions of the livestock sector, and assessing the current and potential future EU policy framework for livestock. This dairy cooperative focuses on animal welfare and harmonious integration of livestock into its farming systems. It has developed own voluntary standards beyond EU/Demeter organic’s which among other factors underline the importance of mother-calf-rearing systems.

13 grazing dairy farmers in West of France were gathered to demonstrate the benefits of grassland systems in terms of mitigating climate change, maintaining biodiversity, improving the quality of farmers’ livelihood as well as generational renewal in agriculture.
Quality assured production system on high nature value semi-natural pastures | PATHWAYS Practice Hub
Naturbeteskött is an NGO with members who are farmers, consumers and industry representatives. They have an interest in producing, marketing and consuming beef and lamb grazing on semi-natural grasslands. Therefore, this practice hub showcases the benefits of grazing on high nature value (HNV) grasslands and promotes quality assured pasture beef and lamb through existing third-party certification.

Farmer Practice Hub Pitches for Sustainable Food
PATHWAYS designs future scenarios for sustainable livestock husbandry and food systems by facilitating dialogues with farmers in Practice Hubs all over Europe.
In these national Practice Hubs, farmers discuss ideas and innovations, are given the option of testing innovations in Living Labs and feed their ideas to other stakeholders from farm to fork to support sustainable livestock production and consumption.
Less Is More: A Policy Debate for Sustainable Food
