In 2025, the annual meeting of the European Association for Animal Production (EAAP) will be held in Innsbruck, Austria from 25-29th August. The general topic of this Congress will be: “Future-proof livestock farming“.
The Congress will feature diverse sessions, jointly organized by the eleven EAAP Study Commissions, exploring topics ranging from genetics and nutrition to animal health, welfare, and precision livestock farming.
We are excited to announce PATHWAYS’s participation in a special session at this year’s EAAP Annual Meeting, in collaboration with sister projects INTAQT, CODE-REFARM, and mEATquality.
Titled “Advances in Value Chain Assessments for Sustainable Livestock Systems”, this session will explore innovative methods for evaluating the environmental and socioeconomic sustainability of livestock systems. It offers a prime opportunity for researchers to share their scientific work, supporting the project’s mission ahead of its conclusion in 2026.

- Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
- Ecosystem service evaluations
- Physical flow analysis
- Animal welfare
- Product quality (safety, nutrition, organoleptic)
- Governance dynamics Discussions will highlight holistic sustainability assessments and transformational pathways to enhance livestock value chain resilience.
– Deadline for submission: March 1st, 2025

– Abstract requirements: Must be written in English, include objectives, experimental methods, statistical analyses, results, and conclusions.
– Each author may present up to two abstracts.
Abstracts will be accepted as oral presentations or posters, and authors will be informed of acceptance decisions by April 2025.
